Hi guys,

I received an NOI from Ontario, but I have a question about the settlement funds. In the instruction they say that you must submit copies of six months of your most recent bank statements... but I'll put the money in the bank these days. Is it acceptable to provide only the current bank certification letter or is it mandatory for 6 months bank statements? :/

Just show them source of this fund accordingly or as a gift deed if required. Transactions are okay if you show them in bank statement.
I have shown last 6 month statement with My statement and father's statement as a gift deed to me. And bank later, showing INR equivalent to CAD as on date.! (Note:- Major transaction were in last 2 weeks for me but i have shown accordingly on paper.)

I am from Albania. I tried to find the balance between a possible OINP nomination and retaking IELTS...now that I made up my mind, the 29-th of July was booked :) yes, our situations are very similar...i find it very ironical that for 0.5 band score, one should lose so much
Y u did not think of remarking ur IELTS ?!!! In which section u r running short?! Of course resitting an IELTS test is the best option anyways. (I m in similar situation and I applied for remark in speaking. Jus 0.5 is all that I need for my score to get to 430)

Hey ornela,

I'm from Albania too, with 403 CRS points. What's your score? I have the same doubts as you did, and yesterday I received an NOI from Ontario. I think I should accept it, but still I'm a little confused.

Perhaps. That discussion aside, I think you should give IELTS another go. I got LRWS 8-9-7.5-7.5.
I personally don't think I did well in writing part but I only prepared for 2 weeks. I believe a lot of people don't go through the band descriptors for writing and speaking. If you follow them specifically, I am sure you can do really well. Ielts people have these specific guidelines on how to mark you test.
I don't know, ... you may have heard that once an applicant accepts OINP nomination, his profile becomes invisible for other provinces to nominate him...but I dont think this is the case with provincial applications...

yeees .. i felt unsecure at the time, and maybe i lost a great chance, but i called to ask for the recheck, and they said they almost never raised band scores...as you can see on my signature, i was bad at writing..

Guys, my two cents on OINP acceptance:

All those who have been eagerly waiting to get into Canada, why are you thinking of not applying for OINP...? Even if you get a direct ITA, the only major loss will be CAD1500 which is not much as against your final dream. The best part is that this will ensure that 80% of your documentation is ready once you receive the ITA and it should ideally speed up the PR process as some of your documents are already verified by OINP
For me, applying for OINP is a back-up option. Lets evaluate the scenarios:

Scenario 1: You apply for OINP in next 10 days: worst case you will get nomination in 3 months from now, by that time, if you have already got an ITA, you reject the nomination and go ahead direct ITA route. You will loose 1500CAD + effort to complete additional documentation.

Scenario 2: You don't apply for OINP and wait for July draws: best case is that you get direct ITA in July and you move on happily. Worst case, you don't get ITA and now start thinking about OINP... by that time, the chances to get OINP nomination will reduce further as they have a limited quota to fill for the year. End result could be a lot of stress and disappointment.

In my view, its worth the risk (or rather a back-up) in case I don't receive direct ITA.
My reasons for accepting the NOI from Ontario were very similar to what you've outlined in this post and your earlier post.

But having said that, you've to keep in mind that not everyone has similar needs and concerns. Some people wouldn't like to limit themselves by living and working only in Ontario. Others may have difficulty arranging for the additional documents that Ontario needs.
