Today Draw ...

My Naive Guess

433 ...

I wish it goes down more
I think it could be more that that 434, but hopefully reduce.

on march 1st everyone above 434 was given an ITA,
in 3 weeks, we had 3479 people enter the pool with points above 441. (this may include people who have declined the ITA also)
Imagine the people that have entered below 441 and also below 434 during this time.
I have a feeling that there will be more people in the pool above 434 than on march 1st

If there is a draw this week I predict 435. if the draw size is 3.5K plus.

but I hope that the points go down to low 420s in the coming months.

this wait has not been fun in March.
Hope things will be different this month.

Last Friday I announced to my family about being busy looking out for the draw(if there was one).
On Sat I informed them that I got the ITA. that was my prank, To see their reactions, to see my parents reaction.

I think they took it well, they were cool about it and happy...

They know that there are a lot of steps involved
not sure how they may take, when I (if I) reach the last steps.

I think today is expected to be the day for the release of "Express Entry Year-End Report 2016".

last report (2015) was released on April 5th, 2016, so I think it will be released today. I hope so. :-[

CIC link:
God, 78% of those who is already in Canada! ??? EE is like not an immigration program but mostly a legalization program for people who has already moved and settle there. WTF? :(

I can't get their logic. EE is kinda supposed to fill the Canadian economy sectors with specialists they are looking for but in fact, it just legalizes people who are already in place and successfully working on their economy. Why don't they just give a PR to those ones who worked in Canada for say 5 years or something? Seriously. They are already working on the Canadian economy, they are already qualified enough for Canadian employer, they are already established there. CIC, why do you fill the pool with people you already have instead of leaving it for those you still need? This just adds a headache for everyone.

that was an old report. Yes, initially CRS points were very high, and typically people who are already living and working in canada (either on student visas- extension, spousal or someother types of visas) were given priority for Canadian PR. with that slot now taken care of, CRS rounds are more focused on outland candidates.

From June, registration for jobs bank will be an option. Probably since they launched another program called "Jobs canada - Emplois Canada". So yes, looking forward to the year end report

Why is the score expected to decrease? This last drawing showed an increase, why would the anticipated drawing today/tomorrow go back down? In general, does anyone know what prediction/statistical models are used to derive these ITA thresholds? Clearly they must use data on immigrants relating characteristics (like age, advanced degree, prior work/educ in canada, years of experience, language ability, having relatives in Canada, etc.) to subsequent "success" in Canada. "Success" here is probably modeled as some multivariate construct that encompasses various dimensions like ability to secure jobs matching one's level of experience, level of assimilation, etc. With this data, a predictive model can be developed to produce an index that can be computed for, and used to rank potential immigrants. Then somehow a threshold for this index is defined based on things like the score distribution within the current EE pool and the number of people they intend to select for each round. Again, I'm just guessing here, but these ITAs are really not as arbitrary as we treat them here, clearly they're making these decisions using a set of rules, rules that aren't publicized but can more or less be inferred from the pattern of scores from past ITA drawings.
