My family is very supportive of my move but have forewarned me about the cold. I made the move from India to the UK and now moving from the UK to Canada.
Live on the west coast! Here in Vancouver, the average temperature is a lot better than most places in Canada. It will be nothing like India, but at least the weather is not as harsh as the east coast.

How are the wet winters though? Vancouver is my dream place to live but a month ago where I currently live I experienced wet winter days that were mild temperature wise and I felt pretty miserable. I figure that's how it must feel in Vancouver during the winter.

I'm an Indian and lived most of life in Kuwait (Middle East). Looking to immigrate to Canada! I'm highly skeptical of getting an ITA this draw, but who knows! What is making me curious of this draw is to see how low they will go on the scores!

Do you need to get private health care insurance in BC? I've heard healthcare is free in most of Canada except BC

It's no secret that the weather in Vancouver is pretty miserable. This winter was not as wet as usual. In fact, it snowed a lot more than previous years. Overall, rain is very common here, but summer time is absolutely gorgeous.

You will need to get Medical Services Plan (MSP) of B.C. (approx. $900 a year). It covers all basic medical needs. Most employers will also provide extended health package. In some cases like mine, the employer pays for my MSP.

I am at 433 and waiting for ITA.

But CIC gave me extra points for canadian work experience. I would be completing my two years in April 23rd . I still don't know should I accept or reject the ITA (if I get it)?

Awesome thanks. I'm thinking hopefully once I get the PR, I'll move to BC. I've lived in Boston and very familiar with the East coast weather. Vancouver is not cheap though. Almost like Boston I've heard.

Hello everyone,

I just registered here though I've been lurking on this website for fresh updates since the last 6 months. Thank you all for sharing your wisdom, insights and predictions.

I'm in the pool since September 2016 with an embarrassingly low CRS (403). Fingers crossed for the score to fall to my level ;)

Good luck and keep posting!

Hey there welcome! There isn't anything embarrassing about a 403. Perhaps you can retake the English test and increase your score? When I first submitted my profile I had something like 380 all by missing the listening by 1 point. I retook it and got CLB 9 in all sections and now I am at a 437 with a real shot of getting an ITA. When you have no Canadian Experience or Canadian college degrees, it is somewhat difficult to score very high. Stay positive! Last year I thought I had no shot without PNP, this year I could have already received an ITA had I not recreated my profile the night before an unexpected draw (March 1st)!

I was doing my IELTS and waiting for WES at the same time and using the CRS calculator. I had a score of 412 and got CLB 9 in my 5th attempt and my score jumped to 472. I gave one test a month since October and finally got my score in February. I got WES report on Friday entered the pool over the weekend.
