I think they don't want to get down below 482 that's why no draw today

For me, it looks that new changes are going to implemented soon and then lot of students from Canada will cross 480 easily
and then they will make 482 as the minimum .....as per the new trend that we are seeing from last 11 draws..

They have invited people below 482 before. Why should they be against it now? They will just look at the number of people they need and invite accordingly.

Yeah, I hope so too. I'm at 481 and that used to be pretty easy to get an ITA, but not so much now.

They have invited people below 482 before. Why should they be against it now? They will just look at the number of people they need and invite accordingly.

I think he/she was meaning to do with number of ITAs. If they had say 700 people from 482 upwards for this draw, and wanted 1200 in total then if there are too many people sat at 481 they can't invite just half the people. So they don't want to go that low. The only way around that is for them to invite a load of people at once from 481, but we don't know just how many people there are at 481...?? :-[


Ooh I suppose another way around it is if they just change Express Entry points completely and then nobody has 481 anymore.............! I guess these upcoming changes will tell us everything!!

4 possible reasons for this delay in the 44th draw:

1. Maybe they do not want to have 3 draws in a month (as is expected in coming November) so they have shuffled the draws schedule a bit for the 44th draw...

2. Maybe they do not care about how many people are below 482, they just want to issue ITAs to a beforehand fixed number of people and the number of people below 482 are too many to come in a draw. So maybe they are waiting for there to accumulate sufficient number of people above 482 for their next draw.

3. Maybe the draw is on Friday instead of this Wednesday. It has happened before as well that draws took place on Friday when a Wednesday draw is missed.

4. Maybe they are implementing the long-talked-about changes before the 44th draw. We are halfway through Fall 2016, the time for the proposed changes is at hand.

Fall started on Sep 22 and it ends on Dec 21. Today is Oct 5 so something is wrong with your math.

5. As stated here, may be CIC is waiting to get more applicants for a specific cut-off, on the same time if they lower the cut-off they will have to issue way more ITAs than what they've planned.

I hope there are more than 2000 people stuck in between 475 - 481 .
They might will take only one draw with more no of invitations instead of two draws in this month.

Man, in the whole northern hemisphere the first day of winter is on the winter solstice, what is December 22, what means that astronomical fall ends a day before.

chill guys... i think the most reasonable explanation i have found is they dont want to have 3 draws in a month...
other could be that they draw will happen on friday.... either way we ahve to wait...

go out and have fun guys... draw isnt in our control - so why worry about it ? cheers

If anything can be learnt from this absent draw is that it's fruitless to analyse and make predictions. The CIC will do whatever it wants. The system lacks transparency and has failed.

Also that CIC employee should never have made wild statements on youtube.
