I have a feeling that FSW draws will be resumed once the border restrictions are lifted which will be after June 21. The PNP and CEC draws came into picture only after the border restrictions were imposed.

Yes....
I wish they start fsw as early as this Wednesday.....
I don’t see how this says anything different now. This seems to be their standard narrative from the beginning.

Then again I wish u are right and this indeed would be a glimmer of hope.

It could be a conspiracy theory, but it could be that when Canada open its borders, they put some restrictions on some countries that still have elevate/increasing cases of COVID-19. The US, for instance, have already banned Brazilians from coming into the country due to that. That happening, it could be that IRCC could implement some new rules restricting people from these countries to be invited.

I am a FSW applicant. I do not see FSW draw happening this year. Its not just only because borders and flights are closed, but also health risk to canadians and increasing unemployment rate. Many companies are filing bankruptcy , getting out of business. This means govt is getting heavy hit on financial support to people losing their jobs. Unemployment rate is now 13% which means 3-4 million people are jobless, and this number continuing. Its good to be highly optimistic but shouldn't move away from hard reality.

Agree, mate. I hope we are wrong and FSW happens sooner, but this may be the reality right now.
FSW candidates will have to be patient at this moment. Draws will come back eventually.

USA is a hot mess nowadays, with George Floyd’s protests and covid-19. 2020 been a rocky year so far with everything including immigration.

Correct. Both still have their number of cases climbing up while in Canada it's dropping. Not sure the Government will put Canada in risk of a greater second wave by opening its borders and be blamed for it.
Every thread this comes up, and every thread I say the same thing. If I get invited right now as an FSW candidate, it will be months of submitting documents, then at least 6 months to wait for application processing. And then once I finally get approved to fly to Canada, I will probably be required to quarantine myself there before going out in public. How I am any more of a health risk right now than anyone else inside or outside Canada, I really don't know.

I wish more people on here could be supportive of all kinds of ITA candidates. We've had a great many selective draws over the past 3 months, and I hope that general ones resume very soon, so that we all have a chance, based on our skills.

You could be right too. Everyone here is free to express their opinions. It seems you only want to hear what you want to hear. Good luck to you.
