Hi Everyone,

Im new here...My husband and I are at a score of 457. Do you think its possible for us to get an invite by the end of August or do you suggest that i take the IELTS exam again to reach 461 points.

So my hubby has a CLB 10 but i am stuck at a CLB 8, hopefully if i can get a CLB 9, it will give us those extra 4 points. But then again there is the factor of spending 12 k to do the exam.

So can someone please suggest if we should wait until the score drops to 457 or 456 or just write the exam?

Any suggestions would be helpful
You have a pretty good chance in Aug 21st draw at 457.

I hope that CIC make changes to the rules in regards to birthdays such as if at least people can compensate that with experience. Right now 3+ years exp is similar to someone having 5+ Or 10+ years of exp but if CIC can allocate more pts for experience that’ll help ppl who are feeling dejected when their birthdays turn up.

My current crs is 428 (waiting for ECA evaluation which will add 10 pts, dunno when).

Lol and the people from western countries get offended if we call someone in their 40s old, let alone many people still try to figure out their careers even in 30’s. Jokes apart, my issue is that someone who’s 28-30 yrs of age with 3+ Yrs experience has a clear advantage over someone who’s between 30-35 with 5+ 8+ or 10+ yrs experience which is completely unfair. And again the purpose of all these immigration policies is to boost economy and in the corporate world, experience does matter a lot.

And because of those so called 0-35 with 5+ 8+ or 10+ yrs experience - young people have no chance to getting a PR in countries like Australia (this is where I am currently). And do you mean to say young people don't boost economy as much as corporate sitting in those tall high rise buildings? Would prefer Canada's system and ranking any day over Australia.

Y r u transferring such a huge amount... Funds in your account can be used as POF as u r accompanying....
i have not transferred yet but plan to. So, 1) should i transfer and explain in LOE
2) or just obtain proof of funds from my bank and explain in LOE that i am secondary applicant and funds are available immediately to my wife?

thanks, do i need letter of proof of funds from my bank? and then explain this is immediately available to my wife (primary applicant)
1. Yes, attach a Bank Certificate Letter showing your funds detail
2. A notarized letter from you mentioning that your wife can access your funds and you've no objection
3. Mention this point in LOE

Yes you can work on implied status.
I might be wrong but from what I know it is not possible to extend a post graduate work permit, so even if I apply for an extension, it would eventually get rejected and I would have to stop working at that point in time. Is that correct? Please let me know

Hey folks,

In 6 years of my work exp in same organization, 5 years exp at Sr. Consultant designation (NOC Code 2173) and last 1 year designation as Manager (NOC Code 0213) , then in that case do I have show show both the NOCs separately and if I only show (NOC 2173 ) , will it work or I need to show my latest exp 0213 as well.
One more suggestion required, I have 10+ years of exp and I have all the required letters, do u suggest to mention them all or just mention the last 3-4 years as it sets the eligibility criteria

Thanks!

Show only NOC 2173 in Work History section (since you’re claiming points for it and its above 3 years), rest of your experience will go into Personal History. You’re good to go!

Disclaimer: This is based on my opinion. Follow this at your own risk.

Its not about designation.. Its about the work that one does.. Even though your position is manager, if your work matches Consultant NOC more than Manager then write that..

Thanks Nitin
Got the point with showing only 3-4 years exp But I am still confused about my current experience. I have gained two designations while working with my current organization. Here are the dates and designation. My only worry is my current designation says Manager so it should not be case of rejection the moment CIC reads it as Manager against noc 2173. Hence do u advise to put both of them separately or shall i only project 0213 or only 2173 or both. However my primary NOC is 2173

May 2013 - August 2018 : Senior Consultant (2173)
August 2018 - Till Date : Manager (0213)

Thanks!
