Yeah I’m watching videos and stuff .I had 3 IELTS attempts and got 6.5 for the first two attempts and 8.0 on the last attempt. The second and third attempt is only two weeks apart.
I would say practice planning your essays. There are tons of questions on IELTSliz's. website. I didn't practice a lot on writing full essays, but I've definitely practiced planning at least 15 different topics (business, education, work, family, etc.) of task 2 questions. If you can't think of ideas, try googling. Definitely expand your knowledge on different type of topics. It'll help you think of ideas faster on your test. Once you’ve planned out everything, you’ll write the essay very fast and have time to do some final editing. Also, time yourself to create an essay plan within 10 mins max.
Also, I suggest writing task 2 first then task 1. From my own experience from the first two test, I tried "perfecting" task 1 and wrote a lot of words which is actually unnecessary and increased the chances of grammar mistakes. Writing task 2 first will allow you to perfect task 2, and for task 1, you will realize you do not have much time and actually only include the necessary information. Most importantly, use a wide range of vocabularies, it doesn't have to be extremely difficult, but you need to use different kinds of words.
One more thing, your essay should be written in a way that all the supporting points and examples flow logically which goes back to having good planning on the essay.
I’ve booked IELTS . If it doesn’t work this time then I’ll go for CELPIP next time and thankyou .From my experience, I did both test 3 weeks apart when I did IELTS mines were:
Listening 7.5
Speaking 8.5
Reading 7
Writing 7.5
I did CELPIP recently:
Listening 11
Speaking 9
Writing 10
Reading 9
I cannot say which English Language test is best, but from my experience CELPIP produces better scores when evaluating my proficiency in the English language.
All the best. I hope there will be some improvement in your scores,
I understand your situation now. You can try SAP or OKTA too. I am not sure how their policies are now, but they once support LMIA for foreign workers. My OPT is expiring soon, so I’m trying to apply to Amazon or Microsoft or something to get sent to Canada via LMIA. But it is difficult cuz of high competition. Just wait for a couple of months, there should be more tech draws
Celpip was much harder compared to ielts i felt. I wrote celpip twice. Both time my score was listening 12 reading 12 writting 8 speaking 8. Then i did ielts, i got listening 8.5 reading 8 writting 7 speaking 8.I’ve booked IELTS . If it doesn’t work this time then I’ll go for CELPIP next time and thankyou .
456 seems to be a good score so far. Don't lose hope. You are almost there.456, maxed out ielts now
It simply means that they are not working on Saturday/Sunday.Pinned tweet from IRCC twitter Account:
We will not respond to any questions sent from August 10-11. Please hold your questions until August 12. Thanks for understanding!
Probably draw on Monday then.
Good luck and don’t give up!Yeah I’m watching videos and stuff .
I’ll keep all the information you shared in mind. Thankyou. Really appreciate it.
I really gotta score higher in writing this time, that’s my only way out.
Thankyou .Good luck and don’t give up!
I believe everyone who has maxed their LRS means that their English should be good enough to score a 7 on Writing as well. I don’t think my grammar had improved so much that it jumped from a 6.5 to an 8 within two weeks. To be honest, I didn’t even study for grammar. The only difference that I can think of is the words variety and the flow of the essay that had caused such a huge jump.
AFAIK, there was this startup in Calgary that ports your US job over to Canada thru the Global Talent Stream even when your US employer doesn't have an office in Canada. Only catch is that your current employer should agree with you working remotely. My OPT is expiring soon, so I’m trying to apply to Amazon or Microsoft or something to get sent to Canada via LMIA. But it is difficult cuz of high competition. Just wait for a couple of months, there should be more tech draws
Target PR's for the year wrt ITA's mean nothing. more than 50% of the ppl who get a PR this year probably got their ITA's last year. so yes they can achieve their targets this year without issuing any more ITA's.
