Man I mentioned the date in the comment where you just replied :O
There is no provision for declining an OINP NOI...we get 45 days to submit the application on OINP portal, if we do not submit by then, the NOI will automatically get cancelled

Thanks for the info

Can someone explain to me how the draw works if you’re sitting at the cut-off score? Looking at the latest draw for 1/23,

Tie-breaking rule: January 2, 2019 at 03:55:26 UTC

If you look at the previous draw for 1/9,

Tie-breaking rule: January 2, 2019 at 11:40:53 UTC

So it appears that the cut-off date has barely moved (only a few hours).

1. Assuming that the cut-off score in the coming draws stays at 443, how long would it take someone with a score of 443 who entered the pool on, say, 1/22, to get an ITA?

2. If the score goes below 443, does that mean everyone in the pool at 443 will get a call?
Well, there is nothing to get confused about tie-breaking.
First thing you need to understand is, they don't select candidates by the cut-off score. (cut-off score is something that is known after the draw)

Important is the decision about number of candidates. They first decide how many immigrants to invite.
For example, you need to give 5 ITAs to candidates. (which is actually 3900, the number they decide.)
the candidates you have are:

A : 650 Jan 2
B : 450 Jan 13
C : 444 Jan 20

D : 443 Jan 5
E : 443 Jan 1
F: 443 Jan 3
G: 443 Jan 2

H: 442 Jan 5

So, here you have 5 ITAs and A, B and C will get ITA for sure because they are top scores.
Then, next top score 443 .
But there is a tie among 4 candidates with score 443.
(you can't give ITA to all 4 because you decided to give only 5 total ITAs.,
You have to break the tie by some other criteria.)
Then, as a tie-breaker, you say, among the 4 candidates whoever created the profile first will get the ITA.
(if date and time are also same you would check other qualifications like language scores. But it is very unlikely for that to happen.)

That's where E and G get the ITA to make total of 5 ITAs.
And the lowest score of the ITA recievers is 443 which is declared as cut-off score.

So, candidates with score above 443 didn't take part in tie-breaking so they don't need to worry when they created their profile.

(This is simple example for understanding, they don't check each candidate score manually. The system will select them based on CRS as first criteria and Profile Creation date as second. )

I got NOI from Ontario yesterday with 438 points only. I'm surprised because I've not yet seen post by anyone else who got NOI in last 2 days.
AWESOME news, congrats brother! I'm assuming you will go through with it, yeah?

And now I'll be checking my email like a madman these next few days and hoping to find that NOI email as well. :D

Thanks Barkook. I'll proceed with the process and delay it as long as possible as my wife is trying to improve her IELTS score so maybe we can enter 440s by the time I get nominated. Even my friend got NOI and his score was only 435 and profile created two weeks ago.

No, you have to select Bachelor's degree.[/QUOTE

Thanks for responding. What would I need to submit to have the ECA report upgraded to have the report acknowledge as a professional degree required to practice in a licenced profession?

Is there anyone here who have gotten their LLB as a professional degree? If yes, who did the assessment and what additional documents did you submit?

That makes sense, yeah. I hope your wife does well on IELTS and that you're able to take the shortest and best route for an ITA either way.
Oh wow, that's great! What is your friend's NOC if I may ask? Trying to figure out if there are any criteria for yesterday's NOI. It seems like there weren't a significant amount of NOIs issued for people below 439.

You can contact WES and check.
OR
You can get it assessed by IQAS.

Yes, LLBs can been assessed as a professional degree as it falls under that category.

Hi, I just want to know I am sitting at 440. I got a NOI too. Should I wait or should I go for OINP. Is there any chance for 440 in next draw?

You 45 days, prepare all documents and wait 2 draws and if crs won't drop, you can proceed with your NOI.

I wonder if the NOI was for skilled trade substream, if that's the case I think I don't satisfy their criteria of one year work experience in Ontario (among other criteria). I wonder why they would send me NOI in that case as I clearly mentioned that I've never worked in Canada. There is no clarity anywhere about this point, however most of the people who got NOI yesterday have NOC starting with 72, 73 or 82.
