Since the last two crs cutoffs were 449 and 445, the number of candidates above 445 should be less.

But there is large number of candidates waiting from 442 and above which means cut off could be 442 or 443 but with tie break of probably Nov 11.

If draw is on 12 December, that cut off could be 443 or 444.

Hey guys,
What is the CLB level one needs to achieve in each modules of TEF to get additional 30 crs points?
Also, is it foolish to devote 18 months of your life completely to learn french only given PR criteria may be affected/altered by Canadian politics in Mid 2020?
I think that, for political reasons, it's unlikely that the francophone targeting measures will be diluted in the near future.

Basically a CLB 7 gives you 3 points per ability (oral expression writing expression, listening comprehension, and reading comprehension), and the 30 bonus points - so a total of 42 points. Do note that dropping below in any one or more skills will lose you the bonus points.

I got 7 and above for everything except speaking with very low intensity French lessons over 1.5 years (average maybe an hour a week, got to level A2 which is CLB 5 I think) followed by a few weeks of intensive brushing up (largely binge watching French shows on Netflix :)) In my view the writing is actually pretty easy (you can get away just knowing two tenses and a decent vocabulary), the reading and listening are also doable with practice and English gives you a bit of a head start. The speaking really needs practice though.

The above is based in the TEF, no idea about the new option, TCF.

Did you start French from scratch. Also, is TCF recognised for EE or is it only recognised for certain pnp such as quebec. Thanks for the info.

Pretty much from scratch, yes. I only went to classes because my company's French and the lessons were free. TCF was recently added as an option for express entry (think in October or November this year), but not sure how accessible it is. For TEF, the closest options for me were Singapore and Malaysia (I live in Thailand).

I think it will be 443 :) Anything higher than that I will be surprised

Thanks. I am trying student visa for phd in US and master physical therapy and nursing in Australia. I already have master from US. My wife and I have agreed to start learning French if none of the above 2 optins work out. Currently stuck at my 3rd world shithole country which does not recognise my American degrees.
