Hi ,

I am not very sure if this is a right forum , however, i am making an attempt if someone can provide some more insights.

I have been hearing/reading through that spouse can add some more additional points (max 40) in your application. However, when i go through the comparison in comprehensive ranking system then i see every section in human core factor they are reducing it by 10 points with spouse compared to individual which remains the same towards the end of the calculation.

total of individual is 500 points wherein for with spouse it's 460 + 40 points for spouse. How this would be beneficial for someone would like to add his spouse as an other applicant ?.

Am i missing anything over here. Any help would be highly appreciated ?.

Hi..
This has been repeated many times:)

IF your spouse has the language and education to get anything from those 40 points, you will gwt it..
however, if your spouse does not have it, you will lose on those 40 points...for most people, the stronger spouse is the principle applicant, therefore they often lose some points due to spouse not having high enough education/ english....as compared to if they would have applied as single.

but if you are married and spouse is accompanying, then you cannot help it, and will lose those points.... but keep in mind, 2 people are getting in with 1 application....so I think points for married will almost always be less than (or equal to..if both are very similar in background) the points you would get as a single applicant..
In summary: if spouse is strong, you will be ok...if spouse is weak, its a disadvantage.

hope this helps

Realistically, 370 will be a problem... you would need to go to 450 minimum to have a shot..
what is your IELTS score? If that is CLB 9 level, it can boost you 50 points or more..
are you single or married? If married, pls ensure to do ECA and IElTS for spouse..

If you share your score breakdown, we will be able to help more..

May I ask a question here since this seems to be the correct forum.
I am the PA, 34 married, ECA evaluation says bachelors degree. Yet to takes IELTS.
Spouse is 36, as per WES online portal, his post secondary qualification might not be recognized. He is also due for IELTS.
Under the above given situation what can be done to get max CRS score. And what are the chances of PnP if we are stuck at around say 360-380.
Seeking advice from seniors. Thank you.

Realistically - Get CLB9 in all IELTS bands to get max score.

You can apply to SINP with any express entry score as long as you meet their criteria (60/100 points) on their points grid.

There are other provinces such as PEI, NB, NS etc...but those seem to take some time as they are still paper based.

So for PEI, NS, NB creating EE profile isn't required at all? And how long does paper based procss take? More than a year?

One way to increase your score is by writing the IELTS again and getting a score to reach CLB 9. Also since your married, get your spouse to write IELTS and get WES evaluation done. By doing this your overall score will be between 400 and 450.

All the best.
