Mine took 2years . 2017 to 2019. my lawyer called to find out and two weeks later they sent the negative result . I think everyone’s case is different with time . Some takes a short while and others a long time .
What is your next step, I’m in the same boat, sharing advise might help us .

I applied in September got response in April . I applied for family sponsorship and I got
You are qualified for PRRA 12 months after you initial claim was denied . How come your lawyer dont know that ?

Most people apply for H&C at this point.
My wife had to sponsor me so I got my pr through family sponsorship.
I applied for H&C the first time and they sent it back two days later saying I needed to wait for RAd decision, we cannot have two applications going, that’s when they called RAD, as soon as we received the negative decision we sent the H&C immediately, two weeks later I got a call from CBSA about removal, my lawyer argued that I’m eligible for Prra but the officer said she can’t do anything until she sees my itinerary, so yesterday was the appointment to present my itinerary, CBSA was on lock down because they had a suspicious item in the building and we couldn’t get in, we called the officer n told her we can reschedule, we made an appointment for Thursday tomorrow, when we go back I will let you know about the results. My lawyer says the same thing that I am eligible for prra but we have to hear what the officer says. Thankyou for your response. I needed this

I am so sorry to hear about your situation, trust me I have been there I know how stressful it is especially with CBSA Involved. I dealt with them as well but I did not apply for prra as I wasn't eligible. My friend in your situation had to stay his removal at federal court and cbsa let him be till his h& c application came out . Thankfully it was positive.
That's right h&c can only be applied after rad. Depending on your officer, he might just tell you to come in to sigh every month. Hopefully it's not a mean officer.
Your lawyer is your best bet , I hope he is a very good one?? You need someone who is extremely good.

My officer is tricky . But my lawyer said officers aren’t our friend however they aren’t our enemy but they play funny tricks and we should be careful. My lawyer was recommended by my landlord. His wife was almost deported and she helped her until she received PR, he told me she’s expensive but she will help you. Trust me my pockets are burning. But my lawyer has been very involved, she is present on every meeting . I’m praying for a positive outcome tomorrow. I’m hoping the officer will listen to us and be willing to hear our case .
Why did they return the application ? Did you have any children at the time ?
Hello there, so in my case because i am a failed refugee claimant i cannot apply for H&C until 12 months have passed from the time a decision has been made. There is a one year bar for failed refugee claimants. Appeals are only given 15 days for notice of appeal and another 15 days to tender application as soon as you receive a negative decision with IRD . So we naturally opted for an Appeal as it was the only way i would buy time for my H&C. My Appeal decision however did not come until two years later. I did not sit and wait for the RAD however, as soon as i hit one year, we started the H&C application by this time many changes had happened in my life and i was eligible to apply for H&C. When my lawyer and i concluded my H&C application we sent it but they returned it in two days because i cant have two applications going at the same time. i cant have an appeal and H&C , i would have to withdraw one. so my lawyer and i waited for RAD. as soon as we received the negative decision from RAD we sent the H&C and they sent me the acknowledgement of receipt, so its safe to say they have accepted to process it this time . my application is only two months old . It would have been more than 10months if they had accepted it the first time , this is my story
