Hello,
I have an Ra offer letter from a university in canada that indicates that I'll receive 15,500$ CAD per annum and I'm eligible to apply for Ta and many fellowships and awards. Also, many graduate students earn 3000$ CAD every year on average. Plus, a second letter an entrance scholarship indicates that that I'm eligible to earn 5,400$ CAD
I really don't know my tuition exactly in the offer of admission they have written it's approximately 12400$ CAD. On the other hand, on the Uni website it's 10,916$. Therefore, Do you thinks it's good idea to attach the two letters only?
I asked the Uni for fee estimation to figure out my tuition.
Thanks,

Do you have other funds of your own? Bank accounts, savings, other scholarships? You're going to possibly want to prove more funds.

No, I don't have any more funds. Do you think this is enough to get study permit?

You need liquid money.

The “possibility” of applying for grants is not enough as there is no guarantee you will be the one chosen to get them. Note that most bursaries are aimed towards domestic students and not international ones. Do not rely simply on those letters. You need to show more money.

Yes you do. 7400 is for a semester or for a year? What province is this in? Usually international student fees amount to 15000 per year which is why I ask.

Yes the amount is for an year. SFU in Vancouver. MA in English. So do I need to show funds even though my guaranteed funds (stated so in the offer letter) exceed tuition + living?

I have not heard of this university unfortunately. But I also have not heard of success in getting a visa when relying only on fellowship or grant money. Maybe others will have an idea.

I also think it is safer to show some other proofs of funds. But I got to know of an Indian student in the same university getting a visa only by showing the offer letter as proof of funds. That is why I asked. To see if more people have similar experiences. Anyway thanks for your response

It's only the second largest university in BC.

I have letters that indicate I'll receive 20900$ upon registration and it's possible to apply for ta and fellowships. Also, the Ra offer indicates that the prof is looking for work with me. which I think is very good

Key word there is POSSIBLE. Meaning not guaranteed. My comment still stands. You need to show you can afford to live and study here with money that is READILY available.
