How do people apply on the basis of RA. I do not understand cause in any case RA is always related to their graduate work. Why do they have such a complicated category.
It may be related to graduate work, but it is NOT always related to your thesis work - RAs that are employees have to "work" in addition to doing their own thesis work. Those on a stipend do not - BIG difference. Here's an example from one university - as I said before, it seems that each university has its own terms / interpretation -

Another question jes_ON, since I can document 2040 hours which makes almost an equivalent of one year of contineous work experience, can I apply on the graduate category of CIC?
Only if you have completed at least two years of study and a degree BEFORE starting as an RA...
