Does anyone know of the approximate time needed for a CEC Express Entry application to reach the R10 state?
Also, does the R10 status show up on the profile (CIC website) or is it something internal to CIC?

I am looking for this info as I am looking to apply for BOWP and one of the conditions to be satisfied to obtain a BOWP is that the express entry application should have completed the R10 check.

Thank you.

Have you recieved AOR ? My guess is AOR should be good enough (as I do not think they will issue AOR for incomplete application).

CIC does not communicate with you when this stage (R10) is passed. One way to know for sure is to apply for GCMS notes but you will get the file only 30 days after you apply.

Thanks @crama123 for the information....

I came across in another thread on this forum that someone had BOWP application rejected as the EE application had not reached the R10 state yet. He/she had applied for BOWP immediately after receiving the AOR (which is automated now and sent immediately upon submission of application) and when the visa officer processing BOWP checked for verification of EE application (R10), since it was not done, the BOWP application was rejected. Hence my question.

Then I would say apply and wait for GCMS notes will be your best option. But like I mentioned earlier you would get this only 30 days after you apply.

Hi there,

From past patterns, you could assume that 60 days is needed for CEC applicants, and around 40 days for both FSW & PNP Applicants.

So usually after 2 months you should be ok, assuming everything is ok with your application.

Another way is to check your MyCIC Account, and when you have your medical "Passed", then your BG goes from Not Needed (NN), to Not Started (NS) and then back to again NN, then you would know.

Of course the safest and surest way is to request for GCMS notes usually around 10 weeks after AOR.

Good luck.

You have to understand that program rules can and do change, and rules around the BOWP have changed rather frequently. You possibly read a thread for someone who applied before express entry, or in the early stages of express entry before the new rule was clarified.

You can (now) apply as soon as you submit your eAPR and receive the email AOR. However, the BOWP application cannot be finalized until your application passes the R10 completness check.

CURRENT rules are always posted on the IRCC website.

you can apply bowp, but the bowp will be held until you pass r10,
so if you apply bowp is a good track of your pr application process.
