You will have to call their office to find out if you find a new employer when nominated. I think you will likely have restrictions with your foreign worker permit.
When you get nominated it will be open or closed. If your nomination is open you can change employer and even NOC code because there is a possibility you might get promoted or find a better paying job-the only thing is make sure your new job is not among those that are ineligible to get nominated.
However, if your nomination is closed you will have to stay with the same employer.

I think no you need nominations certificate to renew or extend your work permit

Mine applied October 4 2018 under AOS skilled worker and my work permit expired on May 10 2019 hope will get soon a nominations certificate

My dead line to stay in canada is on 10 feb.
But my owner applied lmia in june and has recieved file number in mid july.
I still waiting for an response, i am too close to the deadline .
Anybody has an idea about the processing time of lmia in alberta.
