EDS is a dead category right now, hardly hear anybody getting Nominated under EDS

If that's the case, should we move on to Family Sponsorship Category? Like many of you here, I have been waiting for 15 months. I wonder if a PR application like that will affect our AINP application negatively. :

Do you have a relative in Canada who can sponsor you ? As far as I know its very tough to be sponsored by a family member in Canada ..
Try express entry or get your wife on a study permit to Canada and you can extend your stay on her permit and wait till you get ainp and apply for express entry as well

My common-law partner would like to sponsor me. I'm currently on a post-grad work permit which expires in 7 months and a study permit expiring in 2 years.
I’m a semi-skilled worker so no Express Entry for me. But I would like to try anything to extend my work permit just to wait for a nomination.

two of my friends in SRS-engg got nomination recently(last week)
one is 2253, Dec 2014 application,
one is electric engg( not sure noc), DEC 2014 or JAN 2015 application..

I have the same noc 2253, thats not fare. why didn't i get it.
