Quota for issuing ITA per NOC

Hi Members,

I wanted guidance to understand if there is any cap (limit) on the ITA issued per NOC under the EE program.

I tried evaluating my CRS, with me being the primary applicant and my score was 373, while if I make my wife the primary applicant our score significantly increases to 444 (which is quiet close the last cut-off of 461 issued by the CIC).

I am a software professional having 11 yrs of experience whereas my wife has been a part of HR's Learning & Development team at a private organization from July 2007 till August 2014 and after that she has joined a management college as an Assistant Professor.

I am not sure if there is any quota for the grant of ITA to a particular type of NOC and don't know if making my wife the primary applicant would be a better option?

I have provided the details of our profile which might be helpful to evaluate and suggest the best alternative to me.

Let your wife be the principal applicant for EE profile and you be the dependent as you two as couple are scoring more points as she is younger than you.
Reason: You loose 5 points for every additional year post 30 years in EE profile and plus her score in IELTS is better than yours.

As such there is no official link which provides any information of any cap for a particular NOC code.

I was trying to identify my NOC for applying for EE.

My current role in the organization (Software company) is that of Business Development but previously I have been working as a :

1. Software Programmer - 7 Years
2. Project Manager - 2 Years
3. Business Development - 2 Years (Current Role)

Which NOC would be valid in my case?

When I check the NOC list there are 3 options for me
1. Software Programmer - 2173
2. Project Manager -0213
3. Business Development - 4163

Kindly suggest ?

Kindly note that NOC codes are independent of Job designations. Your NOC code depends on the matching up of your job duties with the job duties of a particular NOC code. 60 to 70% resemblance should be there between your job duties and the job duties mentioned of a particular NOC code.

I hope you are providing the NOC codes based on these similarities.

i.e. you can be a Business Development Manager/officer, but your NOC code can be 6221 - which is my case.
So just make sure you get the NOC code right.

Your intended NOC code will be the one in which you have work experience and you would want to work in Canada.

In that case should our intended NOC code be same as our latest job's matching NOC code, as we will most likely work on similar role? Will this affect our prospects in any manner if experience in that NOC code is less than 3 years?

I hope you have gone through all the NOC codes and their job duties before deciding your NOC code for your work experiences.
