Quitting job with CSQ and work permit renewal

Hi,

I hope someone has the similar experience as us and share us their story.

We recently received our CSQs. My husband had a closed work permit and I had an open work permit associated with his.
We applied for work permit extensions online, so we are currently on implied status.

But he wants to quit his current job. The problem is, if he quit, I would have to stop working as well.

Luckily, my employer is willing to sponsor my closed work permit (I believe I am LMIA exempt as I have a CSQ).

In this case, is it possible for me to get closed work permit and him to get open work permit?

I hope we don't lose our CSQ by doing this - he was the primal applicant for PEQ.

Yes, it is possible, Before he quits his current job, you should be having a new closed work permit with your employer, after that he could apply for the spousal open work permit on your basis.

I understand the one with the closed work permit cannot work however the open work permit should be fine to work.
