Hi,

I have applied PR in October under CEC category. Designation in my work permit says "interactive media developer" but in my employment reference letter, it is mentioned as "Software Developer". both are NOC 2174. Will that be an issue?

Thank you for your help.

I have the same issue. Seniors, kindly respond with your opinion.

If the NOC codes are the same and if the job duties and responsibilities on the reference letters are at power with the respective NOC then I don't believe that there should be a problem, but, if you have received your AOR then I would recommend that you send out a letter of explanation to the VO making him understand what you have tried to explain here.
It is better to be safe than sorry, plus the peace of mind is "priceless".

No, I wouldn't worry about that, that will be OK. If your WP said "interactive media developer" and your reference letter said "office clerk" that would be a problem :)

Job title does not must (and in most cases cannot) correspond with the NOC code, but the duties must be a match at high percentage.

I think in my case, my responsibilities based on my current WP are a match for NOC 2171, but based on my employment verification letter, they are a better match for NOC 2173. I applied using NOC 2173 under CEC. I am really worried now.
What should the best course of action be for me? I haven't received my AOR yet.
