Hi how are you? I have applied to study at George Brown College in Toronto. I am going to study Tourism, Travel and Leisure. I am a citizen of El Salvador. I have Temporary protected Status/ Work Authorization in the USA until 2010 and I have a travel document that leaves me go in and out of the USA as much as I want until Sept. 2009. I am going to apply for my Canada study permit as soon as I get the acceptance letter from George Brown.
I have been granted a visitors visa to Canada in 2002 for a month, and I was issued a Worker Visa in July 2008 expired November 2008. I was a flight attendant for an airline in the USA so I could only go in and out of Canada when I was working a flight as a crew member. I obliged and used my visa only for that purpose. Will having these 2 visas before from Canada help me in getting my study permit?
I have a few other questions...
1) Are my chances of getting a study permit for Canada really slim because I live in the USA?
2) Should I renew my Travel Document for the USA before I go to Canada? (The program I want to study starts Sept. 2009)
3) How soon can I go to Canada once I get my study permit?
4) What does the medical exam entail?
Thank you for your responses in advance!!!
