Questions regarding sponsoring new born twins children

Hello,

I'm preparing for submitting the sponsorships and PR applications for my twins children who were recently born outside Canada.
Parents are both PR already, but my wife is currently unemployed and taking cares of the children outside Canada.

1) Will it help to make her as a co-signer for the application of the children?

2) Can I submit the application for both children at the same time? Or do I need to submit one by one (meaning one after the other is approved)? The reason I'm asking is that the application considers number of persons in total you are currently or indenting to sponsor. Not sure if I can just submit for both together.

3) For the signature of the applicant (new born infants), what should I do with it? Can I (father) sign it for my children?

4) Where should I submit the applications? Is it faster to submit from within Canada?

5) Can I bring my children to Canada with a Visa? How possible is the chance of this?

Thanks a lot.
Sid.

Hi

1. There is no minimum income to sponsor children, so it doesn't make a difference having her as a co-signer.

2. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=005&top=14

If you want to sponsor more than one dependent child, you must fill out an application form for each child and send all the applications in the same envelope.

3. Yes, you sign.

4. Children can only be sponsored outland.

5. You can apply for TRVs but there is the possibility of refusal because the children won't be genuine visitors. If the TRVs are refused, you can apply for TRPs.

Thank you very much!
But would it harm if not having her as a co-signer? Just want to leverage on the pros and cons to avoid unnecessary extra documents.

Thanks,
Michael.

No, it doesn't matter.

Thanks a lot for the info.

Sorry about another question I just came across during filling in the application, which is also relevant to this.

The application checks the following question to determine if the person is eligible as a co-signer:
Do you reside in Canada and in no other country?
If you answered "NO", but are a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada, you may still be eligible to sponsor
So the current situation is that my wife is currently residing in home country for more than 1 year, would she still be eligible to sponsor as a co-signer?

Appreciated!

Adding your wife as a co-signer make ZERO difference to the app. Co-signers only make a difference when there is a minimum income requirement.
