Questions re: complicated residency for two countries for sponsor application

I have a question regarding residency as a sponsor:

I am a Canadian citizen by birth. I have been living and working for about four months a year in Canada and living for the remaining 7 to 8 months in Colombia.

When I am in Canada I live with my parents and in Colombia, I have an apartment which I rent and just keep all year. After this last fall of working in Canada, I returned to Colombia where my wife and I had a big celebration and got married. We are living here in my apartment and after we got married I got my spousal visa for Colombia right away, as it just made things easier with the visa and was a relatively painless process. I intend to come back in the fall again to work, and once my wife is approved, for her to join me and then for us to live in Canada.

Now to my questions:

On the sponsor application:

It asks, Are you a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside of Canada? (I intend to answer No, because I come back and work every fall for four months)

Later it asks:

Do you reside in Canada and no other country? (I guess I would answer No, because I live in both countries, but I work and have a bank account and pay taxes in Canada, etc.)

My questions are:

1.) Would this be the right way to answer these questions? I'm also thinking I should include an extra page where I describe in detail my situation in more detail?

2.) Will the fact that I got a spousal visa in Colombia matter? I know typically someone gets a visa like that who intends to live in that place and the visa lasts for three years. At the time I got it, I figured I'd be here for at least a year before moving back, but this has changed. Plus, it was just easier for a bunch of other things. I'm guessing they are just going to want to see proof that we intend to move back to Canada.

Comments or advice please?

If you dont live outside of canada all the time then it is not exclusive, so you answer no here. I would include a note however explaining how you live in colombia for 8 months. show evidence of you returning to canada every year and evidence of working there. this will strengthen the case that you intend to live in canada permanently once the application is approved.

for the second question you must answer no because ou live in colombia aswell. again, include a note explaining this clearly.

transparency is the best policy with immigration.

Yes, I agree. Answer 'no', but then explain your situation. The visa officer will probably want proof you intend to return to Canada to live once your wife has PR, so include some proof you will return with the application.

Thanks! That makes sense. Just be honest and upfront and include an explanation and proof as needed.
