Questions on qualification for Immigration

Hi All ,

I have few questions regarding my eligibility for the Canadain Immigration program . I have over 8 years of work exp and break up as below :

Aug 2002 - Apr 2006 - worked in India as IT Professional
May-2006 - Apr 2008 - worked as a trainer on Oracle ERP modules in an IT Consulting company in US
May 2008 - Till date - working in a full time job in US as an IT Professional .

Can somone please let me know , if I can apply under the "Federal Skilled Worker" category under occupation code "4131 College and Other Vocational Instructors" . If so , will only 2 years (May-2006 - Apr 2008 ) of my work exp will be considered as the actual relevant exp ? . I mean while calculating the points in the "Factor 3 – Work Experience" section do I need to consider the option "More than 1 year but less than 2 years" / "4 or more years" . Please clarify .

Any replies / suggestions in this regard are highly appreciated .

Minimum Work Experience Requirements
You must meet the following minimum work experience requirements to be eligible to apply as a skilled worker:
 You must have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment.
 Your work experience must be in an occupation of Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B of the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).
 You must have had this experience within the last 10 years.

Note: Remember that you must have work experience in an occupation in Skill type 0 or Skill level A or B and that your experience must have occurred during the 10 years before the date of application. If you do not meet the minimum work experience requirements, your application as a skilled worker will be refused. Experience Maximum 21 points
1 year 15 points
2 years 17 points
3 years 19 points
4 years 21 points

Hey ,

Thanks for your response . I believe my company trainer exp is in Skill A and IT Professional exp is in Skill A . So , I understand I qualify to put 4+ year of experience while assesing my points in points calculator .

Can someone please validate my understanding . Thanks in advance for your reply .

sir... be informed that it professional and it managers are different occupation categories acc. ti cic... and it professional category is not eligible under 38 occ. list....

so... u can calculate ur exp. accordingly....

1. You have more than 1 year of experience as Trainer. NOC is 4131: College and Other Vocational Instructor. It is under 38 Demand list. You are eligible to apply.

2. You have worked in 2 designation, IT professional and Trainer, both occupation are under skill level A. You will get the point for work experience of both the occupation.

3. Your total work experience is more than 4 years in Skill level A. You will get Maximum work experience points, that is 21 Points.
