Questions on PCC

Hello,

Iam currently residing in Kuwait. How much time does it actually takes to obtain a PCC if Iam applying for PCC from the Indian Embassy. Iam yet to receive any ITA, but expecting to get it sometime soon in the future. Currently at 385 points, re-attempting ielts to get a CLB of 9, so that my points get increased to 455.

Help required.

I have applied for it from the Indian Embassy in Bahrain. They have mentioned that it will take around 7 to 8 working days.
Even I am awaiting the ITA.

Hello, Can you also let me know the documents that you carried and submitted for issuance of PCC. Also did you apply for PCC from Bahrain Ministry as well.

Hi Sumeet, I got my Indian PCC just today itself. They told me it will take 7 to 8 working days, but I was lucky that mine got ready in just 2 working days. I only filled up the two forms given by the Indian Embassy, 6 color photos with white background ( 51mm x 51mm) out of which 2 photos to be pasted on the forms itself - one on each. In addition you need to submit your original passport to them along with the application fees of BHD 12/- (Check the fees in Kuwait).

Now coming to Bahrain PCC - I cannot obtain it until I have the letter from CIC requesting the Minsitry of Interior in Bahrain to provide me the Bahrain PCC or Certificate of Good conduct. So, I believe I do not need to submit it while applying for PR.

I beleive it will be the same case for you. I have found this below information from CIC website for Kuwait PCC:

How to Get a Police Certificate – Kuwait

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No

Citizenship and Immigration Canada will send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send your Application for Permanent Residence. You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.

Name of document(s) to get: Good Conduct Certificate



Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?

Yes, but only after you submit your application. When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from CIC to get a police certificate.”

CIC will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information.

Note: CIC will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

I applied for Character Certificate or Police Clearance Certificate from Pakistani Consulate in Abu Dhabi,
What I received after 5 months is a paper having black and white letterhead with black & white emblem mentioning their is nothing adverse in Police record during my stay at "my address in Pakistan". Only colour on the paper are of the signature and the embassy stamp.

That certificate contain no other information like CNIC No. Passport No. DoB, not even my photo.

I intend to submit the same to the LVO or CIC in the hope that it will be acceptable .

Kindly share your experiences, preference and steps to follow to get PCC from Pakistan while living abroad.
(Did anyone tried the services of "Mamoo in Pakistan)

THanks Sushsmart. Well I did also read somewhere that you can get the request for PCC from the canadian embassy by showing the Invitation to Apply (ITA) mail. The embassy issues the letter which can be provided to receive Bahrain PCC. May be you should check this out. I found the below in the CIC website.

If you are not a citizen of Bahrain:

If you live in Bahrain: (for more than 6 months)
You must apply in person at the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) (see Special notes and considerations for complete address) and bring:

The letter from the Embassy of Canada requesting the Good Conduct Certificate
Your completed Good Conduct Certificate application form (PS/CID/30) (You can get an application form from the CID)
A copy of pages 1-4 of your passport
A copy of all previous Bahraini resident permits
A full set of fingerprints taken by your local police authority
3 photographs (4x5 cm) with white background
Applicable fees

Document issued by Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi got accepted, as I got PPR.
