questions regarding IMI1344A
#1 it says "if you are found ineligible to sponsor, indicate whether you want to withdraw or proceed with application for PR.... If the whole point of this application is to sponsor, whats the point of proceeding with the application? isn't it automatically denied if the sponsor is ineligible?

#10 If the sponsor was a PR first then citizen ship later on, should I check yes for Canadian citizen and Permanent resident or only check Canadian citizen?

last question is how or where do we find out what date I became a citizen on? on my certificate of citizenship it only says 1998 ?

#1: If you want to be able to appeal the refusal of the sponsorship application, the entire application must be processed first, all the way to refusal of the PR application. You can then appeal. If you withdraw the application after sponsorship denial, you can't appeal (but you also get the PR processing fee back).

For an inland application, it never makes sense to tick "proceed" as there is no right of appeal at the end of the process, and without a valid sponsor, the PR application will be refused. For an overseas application, it depends on the circumstances. If you believe the sponsorship eligibility may be denied, and want to appeal, you need to tick "proceed" to make that possible.

#10: Only citizen. Once you are a citizen you are NOT a PR anymore.

The call centre should be able to look up the date you became a citizen. If they can't find it, just put the year, and add an explanation.
