Questions for form IMM5708 (Extension of stay)

Just a couple questions regarding the form...


Under "Details of Visit" - Funds available for my stay - I will be supporting my partner while he is in Canada, is a letter of employment stating my salary, a copy of my T4 for last year and a couple pay stubs be sufficient "evidence"? What do I put in the actual "Box"? My annual income or monthly or ??? Do I need to provide a letter stating I will be supporting him as well?

Also, he has a return ticket to his country, but has not changed the date yet (he can stay in Canada until August 1 thus far), does the date on the ticket need to be changed before he applies for the extension, or can he leave it just in case the extension gets refused?

Under "Purpose of Visit" - he stated "other" and the reason as being to establish common law with my girlfriend, is this acceptable? Or?

Be sure that he writes down he is a dependant. Put the amount of money that will be available for the period, for example if he plans to stay 6 months and you earn 50k then put 25k.

One last question...

Where would he write that he is a dependent?

This would have to be in the letter of explanation, as well in section DETAILS OF VISIT TO CANADA 3) Expenses paid by "girlfriend".
