questions before sponsoring

Hi there !
My name is Hristo Vasilev. I would like to ask you a few questions before i start doing the applications for sponsoring .
I became canadian in January 2009 but then i moved to Bulgaria 3 years ago, i got a family here a wife and a child , he was born in May 2008 , they are both bulgarians .My first question is can i sponsor them as we all live in Bulgaria right now ?
From what i have read online and i am worring is that my income right now its not 30 000 dollars a year and i have looked in the applications for sponsoring and there is a questions about my yearly income ..If you can tell me what is the best way to sponsor them and take them with me in canada that would be perfect. Do i have to return to Canada and work a year before i can apply to start the procedure or i will be still able to apply from Bulgaria and the income would not affect the final decision!?

You don't have to return and "work for a year", but you have to RETURN to Canada, period. To sponsor you have to be residing in Canada.

Not if he is a Canadian Citizen... he said he became Canadian... if you are a Canadian Citizen not a PR, you do not need to be with-in Canada to sponsor your wife and child. you would fill out all the paper work and include a settlement plan with it, proving your intent to relocate to Canada once your wife's application is approved. no need to worry about income requirements as there are no income requirements for spousal sponsorship. On the other hand if you are not a Citizen and just a PR your PR status may be in jeopardy as you have already lived outside the Country for 3 of the 5 years... you are required by law to live with-in Canada 2 out of 5 years to keep your PR status, and as truesmile said as a PR you must live with-in Canada to sponsor... I was under the impression that a child born outside of Canada will be Canadian citizen provided that at least one of the parents is Canadian. This only applies for the first generation though.
In that case, if you're citizen, you only need to sponsor your wife.

well , i become a canadian when my son was 1y old ,so i guess in that case it's different, i am not sure!
i have to ask about that issue to, there is to many things that i need to know , and i am not sure with what should i start first!
well the most important is tht i dont need to be in canada , to sponsor them , and i dont need to have 30 000$ income ...that was my biggest fear!
and now i ll have to go in romania(coz we all live in bulgaria at the moment )and talk with the canadian embassy , to find what should i do from now on ....

I didn't mention that because you said you became Canadian (2009) which was after your son was born (2008).... and I should have asked before... did you include your wife, even if not married yet at the time you became a citizen you were atleast common-law and child on your application? If you did not then you will not be able to sponsor them. As long as you did include them and you can sponsor them the information below is what you would need...you and your wife will need to go thru and fill out the papers in both packages....

Creampop -What do you mean by i cant sponsor them if havent include them in my application -which application do you mean!?
I apply for canadian citizenship in 2007 i didint know her by that time ..i met her couple months later. In 2008 she gave birth to our son and in Jan.2009 I got my citizenship on paper then i moved back in bulgaria to live with them ...and right now i wanna sponsor them and we all come back to canada!{we have never got marriage but we can do it any time if we have to } ....Thanks again for your help

ok nevermind that then... cus you had to be here 3 years before getting citizenship.... it gets confusing sometimes and I am not sure about the citizenship requirements, did they ask if you were in a common law relationship or married when you got the citizenship? I don't see anywhere that it asked if you were married on the citizenship application, so you should be fine. the 2 links I posted above are what you need to fill out and obtain PR status for your wife and child.
