Hi Friends - I am fairly new to this and just started my research around Canadian PR. Basis your experience / knowledge appreciate if you can provide answers to below questions.

Secondly, would be great if someone who has recently applied with New Delhi office can revert as this would be a great insight towards the required documentation etc.

Questions:

1. Sufficient Funds Proof - Do we need to provide this when we apply for PR or can be done later? Secondly, do they accept proof in form of investments (Shares, Mutual Funds, PPF, PF with employer etc)? or one has to show only in form of funds in saving account? I doubt anyone keep INR 5-7Lacs in saving accounts. As stated these funds can not be borrowed also.

2. Work Experience - It is mentioned that one has to provide ref letters from the current & past letters stating responsibilities, package etc. I worked for IBM etc and all we get is resignation acceptance and a relieving letter stating our designation and tenure. How to go about this? OR this is only required from the current employer?

3. IELTS / Police Certificates - Do we need to show IELTS scores / Police certificates before we apply for PR or can be done later?

4. Consultant - Should I consult a consultant to file my application or this is fairly simple to apply on my own?

Thanks a ton for your all help.

Looking forward for your answers.

I had this question too and most of members on forum said that you can not show MF, PF and PPF. But an e-mail reply from CHC said redeemable funds are ok. Since PF and PPF have long lock in periods I do not think they can be considered as redeemable funds. Mutifal funds may be. But to be on safer side everybody advised me to keep funds in FD.

Consider Reference letters to be must. All my previous employers have provided the reference letters and I believe if you will try IBM will provide you the same. You need reference letter to show at least four years of work experience including one year for 0213. If reference letter is not at all possible you may provide, appointment letter, relieving letter, salary slips, an affidavit declaring your job roles and responsibilities. But you are leaving point allotment to IO discretion. He may or may not be convinced about your claim
3. IELTS / Police Certificates - Do we need to show IELTS scores / Police certificates before we apply for PR or can be done later?
When you apply to CIO you do not need IELTS and PCC. It is advised to give IELTS before applying though to asses your Language point correctly.

4. Consultant - Should I consult a consultant to file my application or this is fairly simple to apply on my own?
This is widely discussed and every one has his own choice please go through following thread

Thanks a ton. Appreciate your help. Last point, about sufficient funds - do I need to show proof when I submit my application OR this can be done on a later stage?

Thanks

You may need to present your proof of funds in two occasions:
1. When you submit your application (must show it)
2. Before issuance of PR on your passport (they will ask you -sometimes-).

You will also need to present it when you land.

Dear KAS

You have tosubmitt proof of funds once your aplication is accepted at Nova Scotia Office. Proof of funds are required at Local CHC.
Moreover, pls do not show investements which are prone to market risk.

BTW where from?
