Questions about Visitor visa

Hi,

While applying for TRV, there is a question in Form IMM5257E saying "Have you ever been refused a visa or permit,.......?". Suppose, if someone has a previous US visitor visa refusal that was later approved in second attempt and traveled to USA and returned to home country. Do we need to mention about the previous visa refusal?
Other question is my family has got a COPR and we will be landing in Canada in couple of months as PR and we plan to take our mother with us. So, would it be good idea to mention about it in her TRV visa application that I will be accompanying with her or do we need to specify anywhere in the application that she will be visiting Canada for a family visit? Or shall we go ahead and apply for her TRV as visiting as a tourist rather than going with a family? Appreciate responses to this. Thanks.

You must answer 'Yes' and provide the details of the US + visa refusals to any other country..... even if you were granted those visas later.

Not a good idea to apply for your mother until a few or several months after you/your family have landed and settled in. Otherwise it might seem like she is moving long-term with you.... and this could result in a TRV refusal.

Regardless of whether she applies before/after you land as PR.... her chances of a TRV approval would depend on her personal ties to her home country + her financial situation + her travel history, including the length and purpose of those visits abroad, etc

It depends on the specifics of your application
