Hey guys,

Me and my wife are about to apply for inland spousal sponsorship.

1) I'm on study permit since October 2016 and my visa will be expired on 31.Dec.2018. I dropped my college because of couple problems and I reported them to government. How is this going to effect my pr application, and my open work permit application? Should I get a tourist, visitor visa?

2) We have some savings about 10k and she is making around 1.600 a month and she is going to find another job. I used to work for a company with my study permit (20hr per week) and making a little bit above the min wage and I will be able to make around 3k a month if I get the open work permit. We are able to live in an apartment suite in Downtown Vancouver,BC but her wage is just covering the monthly rent. How is this going to effect our application?

3) We have the checklist on the cic site but what are the things that we MUST include in the first application mail, except the forms of course (Photos, joint bank acoount, honeymoon, pictures etc.)?

1) Depends when you dropped out of school. Generally dropping out of school automatically cancels your study permit and puts you out of status (once you've stopped attending school for 90 days). Depending on how long it's been since you dropped out, you may still be able to fix your status or it may be too late. If you are out of status, you will not qualify for the OWP pilot and will have to wait much longer before the OWP is approved.
2) No impact.
3) Follow the checklist to avoid errors.

1) Your visa expired after you dropped out of classes. A condition of your visa is being in class. As said above, you may be able to try to change your visa status but if it has been a while, that is not likely to happen. If you are not in status, you are not eligible for the OWP.

2) I'm more concerned about the sustainability of your situation. If her wage just covers rent, and you cannot get your OWP, what will you do? While there is no income level for a spousal sponsorship, CIC wants to see a plan and income to cover expenses so that you don't both go onto social assistance immediately.

3) The checklist will tell you, and each form will tell you. If you need to attach additional information or explain an answer, you will need to include a letter or more proof.
