Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi All,

I am hoping I can get some answers on this site as the Canadian Embassy in England just will not get back to me!

I am English, my husband Canadian and we are currently living in England. He came over in May 2010.

He is sponsoring me to live in Canada with him and we are hoping to get back to Canada next year.

My questions are:
1) What evidence do we need to provide to show that he is planning on returning to Canada with me next year? We will be renting but we will be finding somewhere once we get out there, and staying with his parents at the beginning. We could possibly get a letter from his old job who said they would be willing to take him on when he came back....

2) Am I right in thinking because he has been in England he doesnt need to provide an Option C Tax Printout - would he need to provide an Enlgish equivlant to this or just explain that he has been living in England?

Those are the two main questions and any help with the answers would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and does anyone know the current processing time for these visas? I read about 4 months, but not sure how accurate that is!

Thanks :)

Hey Anna,
MandyUK answered your question on the London thread.
You should send any proof of your return to canada you can. Including a letter from his parents.
Perhaps you could send copies of the last years paystubs in UK for your husband since he hasnt worked in Canada for over a year.
Any more questions, ask away. The London thread is particularly helpful :)

I've replied in the Outland UK thread but I'll post my reply here as well if it helps anyone else using the search function for similar questions :D

I am in a similar situation to yours except that I am the sponsor.

1)

When we submitted our application in May, I had no job offers or mortgage / rental agreements in Canada as we have no intention of quitting our jobs or selling our house until my husband gets his visa.

All I submitted as evidence that I am planning to return to Canada was a written timeline outlining ‘our reasonable plans' when we move to Canada and a letter signed by my parents confirming we could live with them while we look for employment and housing of our own. I was accepted as sponsor no problem.

I have heard of people printing off their internet browser history to show they have at been looking at job offers in Canada and looking for real estate listings.

Also on my sponsor form where it asks what date I plan to resume residency, I put a provisional date in, as I have no idea on the exact date I'll be returning to Canada, it all depends when we get my husband's visa. I have been advised by CIC that the date you put on the form is just that, a date. You don't have to be in Canada by the date you put on the form, but you will need to "land" in Canada with your spouse before the visa's expiry date (which is 1 year from the date of when the medical was done)

2)

As a Canadian sponsor living and working in the UK for the last 10 years, I could not and did not provide an Option C printout.

Instead, I included a photocopy of my ten P60's (2001-2011) and 12 monthly paystubs for last year (2010-2011). I also included a letter from my UK employer confirming my UK employment.

Hope this helps! :D
