I want to apply for federal skilled worker program in NOC 2174 computer programmer and media developers
1) if i have career gap of 5 months between jobs ..will it be a problem
2) do we need to support any documentation proof of duration of un employment
3) if my past employer denies to give me letter of reference or states that i just underwent training during my employment then will it be a problem

4) is it wise to apply for NOC 2174 at the momnt wen 190 applications are submitted already considering i shall be applying by sept end or mid oct

4) It's extremely probable the cap for 2174 has already been reached. The 190 application received reflects May only (and probably not even the entire month of May). You will be far too late if you apply in September or October.

I would have asked you to apply if you could do it in a week or next 10 days. In Sept it will be too late.

I haven t yet applied for ECA and don't have IELTS yet so it's impossible for me to apply in 10 days.

Can some body take an educated guess if this category (2174) will be there next year too? Considering huge applicants this year will the cap be same for this category next year

chances are, new rules to immigration may be put into place by next year. i heard they are going to pattern to the EOI system (like that of NZ and AU). this article can be useful for starters: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/enewsletter/2012/12/interest.asp

Hi there,
My FSW application has been delivered to CIC on the 24th July 2013. I've sent in the relevant forms, supporting documents and fee payment as requested but haven't received any email to date. Can anyone tell me how long do I have to wait before receiving an email from CIC pertaining to my application.

Thank you

Nice info... However, even if EOI system is introduced, I think CIC would still have occupations list announced and in my opinion, considering these changes, a wide range of acceptable occupations would be introduced... However, it is just my opinion...
