Questions about my PR application profile

Hi,

I'm a 23 year old (single, male) Engineer from India. I've been remotely working from India for a Toronto based Software Company since Feb 2019. I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (Engineering) degree from Mumbai University in Feb 2021 and I intend to apply for a PR this year or early next year. Could anyone who has had a similar experience or knows about this please answer my questions?

Here are my questions:
- Does my work experience count as Canadian work experience? (Since I’ve been working for a Canadian company, but from India)
- Does my experience count as full-time work experience? (2 out of the 3 years of my experience working here was while I was still attending university. But my work was paid and more than 30 hours per week).
- If my work experience while attending university doesn’t count as full-time, which work experience after university counts as full time. The day after I finished my last exam (October 2020) or the date I received my degree (Feb 2021)?
- Does my current job count as a “valid job offer from a Canadian Employer”? If yes, should it be supported by an LMIA?
- Given my situation, should I apply for Express Entry (Experience Class) or Provincial Nomination (Ontario) and which option leaves me with the best chances?
- Is IELTS Academic accepted as a valid proof of English Language Proficiency?

I used the CRS tool to calculate my score (assuming only 1 year of foreign skilled work experience) and it turns out to be 416.

1. No, your Canadian experience doesn’t count. Foreign experience, yes.
2. If full time then yes.
3. You can count experience gained while a student.
4. No you don’t have a job offer.
5. You are eligible for Express Entry - FSW or OINP if your score is high enough with the NOCs the province selects. Or for an OINP path not through EE.
6. No, you need general IELTS. Academic not accepted.

416 is too low for EE-FSW.

If I count my experience while I was a student, then
- my CRS score jumps up to 441
- my FSW score comes out to be 79
Both of these are without counting the job offer (since it's not valid)

What can I do to make my job offer count as a "valid job offer from a Canadian Employer?"

Hey,
No you don't need a work permit to work for a Canadian employee from India. In India, you're considered as a skilled worker providing services abroad and have to pay taxes in India.

To make your job offer count, your employer needs a LMIA, pay $1000 and prove that they could not hire a Canadian or PR to do the job. So they need to post the job in Canada with salaries equivalent to the NOC. They need to show how hiring you to work in Canada will grow their business.
