Questions about Immigration forms

Hello,
I live in Canada and got married in April. My husband lives in Pakistan and I am going to apply for spouse visa. I had a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

In the Immigration checklist, it says "Birth Certificates or Baptismal certificates for yourself and all family members, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not." It also asks for the National Identity Cards of everyone in the family. Since both of these documents are in Urdu, will he have to get them translated into English for everyone?

Also, his mother's National Identity card has been expired since 2010, will he have to renew it and then send a translated picture of it or the expire one would work?

Hi there,

Yes, you need translations of all documents that are not in English. You have to use a Canadian certified tranlator, they know what to do. ANd also check on CIC website for any specific requirements from thst country.

But you are just sponsoring your husband right ? They write this because you could sponsor other relatives that are not going to Canada now.

But if you´re just sponsoring your husband you only need documents from him. That´s it.

Yeah that was confusing me a lot. But thank you so much for your reply. I had another question. It says for the translation of documents that aren't in English that you have to get them certified. Now, since there's a difference between attest and certify, I don't know where he would get his documents(National Identity Card and Birth Certificate) certified from.

Also, it says on the document checklist(the updated one) that "If you do not have status in Canada explain why." I mean I'm applying for his status to Canada. I don't know what would be the appropriate answer to write.

For interviews it depends on the country and the personal details, some people need interview some people don´t.
Either could be called.
Always be calm and sincere.

It says "If you (the principal applicant) are living in Canada provide proof of your status in Canada. If you do not have status in Canada, please provide an explanation on a separate piece of paper , as well a copy of any paperwork you have relevant to your status." It didnt let me copy paste so I typed it out.

Read the bold. Your husband is not living in Canada, therefore this doesn't apply to him.
