Hi guys
I need your help.

Here is my status for now.

I got my AINP nomination under SRS-Compulsory and Optional Trades Category on 10th Feb 2014, which means applicants doesn't need LMO(or work permit) but must have valid any VISA to stay in Canada, so as I.

I worked as a cook with LMO and work permit for 6years in Canada and I got my trade certification from AIT then,

I quiet the work in September last year, after that I applied AINP under the category 25th Nov 2013,

I didn't work until now, because need new work permit to work other places.

my work permit will expire in September 2014,

So now I want to apply "Bridging” Open Work Permit as AINP applicant to work any other places.

But CIC posted about "Bridging” Open Work Permit that applicants can apply the permit within 4months before expired.

I still have 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (6months) . if I apply another work permit, this is going to be waste money, because CIC will give

me new work permit that permit will expire in April 2015, that means I have to apply "Bridging” Open Work Permit in December

2014 to stay in Canada before got PR.

My question is Can I apply "Bridging” Open Work Permit as PNP applicant right now?? and apply at the border? if I can,

What should I need to apply with? I mean do I only need the nomination letter from Alberta goverment? or Do I need a confirmation

letter from CIC that their permanent resident application is eligible?

Please help me and Thank you guys.

I have some issues with my passport. I am applying for my Bridging Work Permit. It seems like I am eligible for it, but the only problem is that my passport is going to expire very soon, that is in March. It is already being processed for renewal. My PR application has been in process since November and I am expecting PPR anytime in March. My question is, if my passport expires next month, would that make me ineligible for the bridging work permit ? My current WP ends in June, so I have exactly four months. It is quite confusing for me. Any kind of suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks...

you should apply OWP after you got new passport, because you will get new workpermit that expire date is same as your passport expire date.

Thanks for replying. I don't know its quite dumb for me to be asking this because I kind of misunderstood the line below

Have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within 4 months;

It says "Due to expire within 4 months", so does that mean I cannot apply before that or does that mean you have to apply when you have less than 4 months of validity on your WP, or does that indicate that you can only apply anytime after 4 months are remaining on your WP to expire.
For example if my WP expires in June, I have to apply in Feb, or does that mean you can apply anytime during the last four months of the validity of your WP.

I guess within four months implies that I can only apply when my WP is expiring within the last four months.

Right ?? But if it means that it has to have a validity of atleast four months, which means I have to renew it right away.

I think you need to wait first for your AOR from CIC to apply for BOWP.
We will wait for others for their inputs. Have you asked CIC about this, have you tried calling them? I'm sure there are lots out there who wants to know about the same case, including me as I want to quit my present job since I got my nomination too ( under AWE ) and had passed my PR application at CIC( waiting for AOR and medical request).

That means you can apply within 4 months, you can apply it at least 1 day before your visa expired. Not only 4months before.

Did i misunderstand? Your passport expires in next month? And visa expires in june? They usually give our visa expires same as passport expire date if the passport expires early than your visa.

Im kind of confuse.

Thanks don...I know I am stupid enough to misconstrue a straightforward eligibility rule. My new valid passport is ready for dispatch according to the tracker...

Hello All,

I would really appreciate if someone could help me with my situation.

I have applied for AINP this monday 12-May, According to the website it takes 6 months for AINP to process under engineering category.

The problem is that my Open Work permit expires in 4 months.

Would i get my AOR within this period? What is the actual time people are reciving their AOR nowadays?

Can i apply on the basis of my file no for BOWP? I have all the correct documents in hand.

Can I apply for an bridging open work permit when I am about to complete four month by mail to buy 2 more months via mail?

Also, am I allowed to work on an implies status?

Please advise. Very stressed.
