Now that I have AIP for Inland Sponsorship through spousal sponsorship am I allowed to leave Canada let's say go to New York for a few days? Or do I have to wait at this point until I get final approval & receive my permanent residence card?

AIP doesn't guarantee re-entry so there is technically always some risk in leaving.

Short answer is that you should be allowed back in without issues - but never 100% guaranteed.

To Scylla Thank you is there is a better of be allowed back with someone who has an AIP than someone who does not?
