If the Sponsor link the application to his my CIC account and e mail . would he receive all the updates and possible messages from CIC ? or it is a must for principle applicant to make this to have any messages or updates ?

Only one of you can link the application. Once sponsorship is approved, the application should be linked to the PA's account as all messages will concern that application only.
