this is probably somewhere obvious but i cant find the answer anywhere
Canada post is still not sure if my passport actually got to the ccg or not but they say there is a good chance it did and just accidentally went normal mail rather than express mail, if i apply for a new passport and it turns out they actually did receive it will that void my visa and completely void everything i have just gone through?

At the very least, the new passport would have to be sent to the consulate. If you tell the State Department that you've lost your passport, they will invalidate it and issue a new one. The old passport will not be valid for travel, so you will not be able to enter Canada (or the U.S.) on it. (For what it's worth, your passport number is also included on the visa.)

i know the new passport invalidates the old one, i dont need it for travel i need to know if having the passport invalidated invalidates the visa as well and if i will have to apply for a new one and go through the application process all over again
