There are many Israeli citizens of arab decent. Actually they are from a variety of backgrounds. There are African jews in Israel.
Also, there are many Canadian citizens born here who have Arab and middle eastern descent.

Dear members,

URGENT

i got my PR, 3 years back, and since then i am in Canada only...nw i want to apply for citizenship. my queries are:-

1. can after apply i can visit to my home country INDIA
2. or shuld i wait till i get my citizenship.
3. but its quite urgent to visit INDIA.

can u pls guide...thanks in advance....
I forgot to add that citizenship applicants should inform CIC if they will be out of the country for 2 weeks or more.

I was looking at your other posts to find this topic and saw that you just got approved for PR this month? It's strange (and unnecessary) to change the story for this board. People can give you better advice when they have accurate information.

For future travel in the next 3 or 4 years, it's really important to keep accurate records of travel dates and keep whatever proof of travel and residency in Canada. This may be required later in the citizenship process and it's much easier if you have it from the start. Good luck.

If Israel does not like arab country so much, can they just tell by looking at you?! So hiding where you were born does not do the tricks. Last time I checked, people don't change their appearance/skin once they get Canadian passports, or am I missing something here.
Many Israelis look like Arabs, and vice versa. Besides, I'm an Arab, but my skin is a neutral color. Skin color has nothing to do with it.

All I am saying is that while a Canadian passport can help a lot while traveling, it surely is not a solution to all the problems you can face.... Today, a lot of countries are giving a very important place to racial and religious factors when deciding whether an individual can enter their territory. You can be a USA citizen, a Canadian, a French citizen and you name it... But if you have a name format that a border policeman has been instructed to monitor more closely, you will be scrutinized more than everyone else and your entry can be denied. Consular assistance won't do much as long as you didn't really enter the country...

Israel is known for this, the USA too ( at a lower degree), some arab countries tend to be more friendly with foreign passports than with their own citizens, some other arab countries tend to be very scared of passports containing israeli stamps, and vice versa.... The only people we can complain to is the Canadian ministry of foreign affairs, they are the ones who are supposed to tell all the countries of the world that a Canadian is a Canadian no matter where he was born or the color of his skin...

Well, I think it is fair to put your country of birth on the passport. After all, you are still who you are after getting Canadian citizenship. You were not born in Canada, and that is the fact you just have to accept it. For me, I will always define myself as Vietnamese wherever I go, the fact is the fact.
