Question regarding temporary passport application for child born outside Canada

Hi there guys!

I have recently applied for my daughters citizenship card from our local Canadian Consulate.

I would like to apply for a temporary passport. i know the document requirements but i'm not totally sure on what I provide as proof that I am applying for her citizenship?

Do I just apply for the passport knowing that they will have her citizenship application being processed or is there actually a document i would need to provide as proof of that?

If you are not in Canada you are supposed to apply for the citizenship certificate through the consulate/embassy so when you apply for the temp. passport, they would know that you did. Your first step should be talking to them.

I have attepmted to speak to someone at the local consulate here in South Africa but the telephone always directs to a voice automated system and you can never speak to anyone. You have to email and it takes forever to get areply. I'm better off asking the questions i have here! lol thanks for the advice.
