Hi,

I'm thinking about sponsoring my parents as permanent resident (I am a PR). I'll also get married this year and apply for my spouse. I was wondering if there is any problem if I sponsor three of my family members at the same time. Is spouse sponsorship different than parent sponsorship? My main concern is income requirements mentioned in below link:

Thanks for your response. But it's not clear to me. Do I need consider income requirement for 3 persons (parents + spouse)? Or these two streams (parents & spouse) are separate? Can you give more details?

you need to visit www.cic.gc.ca web site and read the section related to Family Sponsorship

in your case its going to be two different applications and two different time lines and take a look at

1. Sponsor your Spouse, partner or dependent Children

2. Sponsor your Parents and Grandparents

Requirements are different for above said two cases,

There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse.

When you apply to sponsor your parents in 2017, you will need to meet LICO for 4 people for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.

The only wait period related to parents is that you have to prove income for the preceding three years. So, you have to be living in Canada for 3 years (with whatever status) in order to sponsor parents.
