Question regarding Post Graduation Work Permit

Hello Seniors

I have completed 2 year study from a Canadian College and Just got my Post Graduation Work Permit . but i got the post graduation work permit for just 2 years which is up to the expiry date of my passport.

cic gave a remark that "renew your passport for further extension".

my question is

Is it possible to extend my Post Graduation Work Permit after i renew my passport?

Yes, you can as long as you renew your passport. You will still get one more year after your passport renewal because according to CIC:
"A work permit under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program may be issued for the length of the study program, up to a maximum of three years. A Post-Graduation work permit cannot be valid for longer than the student’s study program, and the study program must be a minimum of eight months in length."

I had my PGWP issued 6 months less (2.5 years) cause of my passport expiry date. I have applied for my extention of my PGWP (6 months) after renewing my passport. It Shouldn't be a problem.

Use the same application form, just document that you're applying due to a renewed passport on the form.

Seniors please advice,
I sent my application to extend my pgwp on Nov.6, 2012 as I renewed my passport and I requested the remaining 6 months on my post grad. Work permit. I did not attach a letter from school. Will my application be denied?

Also can I send another application for the bridging open work permit now as my current pgwp will expire in 3 weeks? ( just in case my first extension gets rejected? :'(

Open study permit, open work permit, restriced work permit.

There seems to be no answer for PGWP. Can anyone help me out?

you do not need that document(following you UCI, CIC already knows that you are on a PGWP). process your application online, mention that you renewed your passport and you wish to have the remaining years in the reasons. good stuff to apply online in the beginning of the process, the system will recognize that you already applied in the past(first application of pgwp) and ask you your agreement to load up the latest information they know about you, at that stage say yes!. to others in the same situation, the online sysmte will only ask you to upload the page of your new passport that states all the valid dates. that's it.
been there, did that, I already received my new permit for the remaining years.

in case of pgwp, choose open work permit.
My friend, do the online application that will better ask you axed and straight questions according to your choices. paper applications are standards questions that put you in doubt. Online application is better, at the end of the process you only upload(PDF) the first page of your new passport that has valid dates and your photo.
