Greetings,
My current study permit is due an expiry by the end of April, 2023. Ideally, I should've finished my masters program by end of Dec, 2022 but unfortunately due to delay in review of my thesis, I'm told by the university that getting the final approval on my thesis may get stretched by two months i.e. by the end of Feb, 2023.
I'm aware that based on the recent updates from IRCC, there is going to be no 20-hour work limit for off-campus jobs from November 15th, 2022. Ref: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2022/10/international-students-to-help-address-canadas-labour-shortage.html
I've received a couple of full-time work offers in my domain both with a start date to be Jan. 1st, 2023. I'd like to be able to take on of the jobs while making sure I'm not breaking any conditions of my status in Canada. My questions are:
1. Would I be eligible to take the full-time off-campus job starting Jan 1st, 2023 in light to the new changes for international students about limit on off-campus work hours while being on a valid study permit?
2. Do I have to apply for a study permit extension, if I'll be completing my degree requirements sometime in Feb, 2023? If so, how soon should I submit an application?
3. If I'm to apply for a PGWP after completion of my degree in Feb, 2023: Would I be considered on an "Implied" status upon expiry of my study permit i.e. April 30, while waiting on my PGWP application? Does that also mean, I can continue working full-time during this period?
Appreciate your time reading through my post and sharing your thoughts.
