I am about to apply for citizenship, and am in a similar situation. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2015, with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. CLEARLY my degree is not going to state that the program was in english, since the US is obviously an english speaking country!

I am paranoid because I read somewhere on this forum, that someone who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Oxford (you know, “the world famous Oxford” in the UK!!!) had their proof rejected. If there is any country in the world that is “english speaking” it would clearly be England. You know with english being THEIR language and all

You are fine. I have two degrees from the US and never once specified it would be in English. The officers really do apply common sense to things like that.

Thanks! That puts me at ease! Just submitted my app about an hour ago. Everything was filled and ready to go! Was just waiting on the FBI bacground check. Luckily it came today (within 3 days of submitting fingerprints).

Hello everyone! hope you all are doing well.
I'm in the process of filling out my citizenship application and I have a quick question regarding the language requirement. I graduated from a post-secondary program in Toronto a couple of weeks ago but haven't received the official transcript yet, can I include my Academic progress report instead, or should I wait for the official transcript to be delivered?

Hello Guys,

I am applying for citizenship via online process .I want to submit my secondary school certificates and university degree as proof of English . However, under proof of language option online, there is no option for secondary/ Degree certificates submission for english. How do we submit our certificates for proof of English ?

Thanks Every one

Jagjit

I just saw this post while I was looking something on google and wanted to say that this is one of the most foolish questions I have ever seen in this web site.

I have similar concerns. I have diplomas from an American high school and college. It's probably obvious that the instruction was in English and the diplomas are written in English. I'm hoping they aren't fussy because it doesn't literally state 'the instruction was in English'. I would think it can be assumed that a person who graduated from an American high school would have some proficiency in English. Or am I overthinking it?
In the same boat right now. Would like to know if they had accepted your transcripts/diploma certificate for U.S??
