I have been reading many topics here and just wanted to say thanks to Qorax for his excellent contribution!

Also I have a question now on landing with dependants. Me and my wife would like to land in May and our daughter (1 year old) would join later. Is this allowed ? someone has earlier mentiond that dependants can land later.

Please reply with your valuable information.

Thanks

PMJ

Not a problem there. In case of 'split landings'... The PA needs to land 'first', any or all family members can land subsequently, any time, but on or before the visa expiry.

Hi Qorax,

Sorry to keep troubling you, but since you are really well informed about moving to Canada, another question popped up in my mind. We are moving from London to Canada and have decided that just the 2 of us (me and my spouse) land initially (May 2010). I was just wondering if we have to carry the funds for 3 of us or can we carry fund for just 2 of us and show the rest in a bank statement in UK. Do you think carrying about $7000 in travellers cheque, cash and showing the rest as a UK bank statement would be accepted at the time of landing as proof of funds??? I am obvioulsy coming back in 3 weeks time but spouse staying back and planning to go back in Aug-Sep with with my daughter who will be in India till then. I did look into options of opening bank account from UK (RBC has got a branch in London and so does HSBC but didn't quite like their terms & conditions). I wonder if you have any insight into these issues?

Also when are you planning to land? Keep us all informed in this forum.....look forward to hear your landing experience.

Cheers mate

Hi UMJ,

I'm not sanguine about the bank statements [though heard that they do accept that from many banks, if not all]. Recently, one of my folks showed her Stanchart statement & it worked. If your a/c is with one of the international banks, it might work.

I regret I couldn't provide u with a rock-solid answer.

Regards,
Qorax
