Hi guys i have a question is ilets a requirement for a study permit. My previous ielts trf expired and my consultant is asking me to take the test again. My application is a non-SDS, flight training, flight school doesn't require proof of my language skills. As far as i understand the study permit process it doesn't require the ielts itself unless it's a SDS application. The language proficiency is more of the educational institute requirement. Please correct me if am wrong and provide me with a link or reference for proof of language skills.
Regards.

It's not a requirement for non-SDS (unless your country-specific checklist requires it) but it's good to have it done and attach to your application if you are not a native english speaker. VOs need to be able to fairly judge your ability to learn and communicate in english.

Thanks a ton my g. Where can i find this checklist ? to make sure if i need it or not. Reason why i am not retaking it is i am short on time so if it was necessary i might even withdraw my application (3rd application). Thanks anyways.

I don't know which country you are in, but IRCC provides an "Application Package" for each country. When you go on their site and choose to apply online for SP, they'll ask for your country of residence. Based on your answer, the correct package is generated for you. For some countries, an additional country-specific checklist link will also be provided on the page. I applied from South Africa and I got both the IRCC checklist and the South Africa checklist, which contains requirements that the IRCC list didn't have such as Language proficiency proof (ielts), Study plan (SOP) and police clearance.

I appreciate your help. I checked the Visa office instruction and an additional checklist for my country none of them mention proof of language proficiency.
