Hi All,

I plan to get a gift deed made for POF as my mother and father are gifting me the money from their joint account. I have some questions regarding this scenario.
1) Will the gift deed contain both of their names, or will either work? What will be the format of the gift deed for their joint account?
2) They are in India, and I am in Canada. Do I need to sign the gift deed before getting it notarized, or can I sign it afterwards? I am confused as to how it will work out since we are in different countries.
3) Will wire transfer be okay? What do I need to provide to CIC for a wire transfer?

Regards

1) yes. Since it's a joint account, make a gift deed in both their names and get it signed by them. "We are gifting this amount to our son for immigration purpose". Signed by both.

2) not required..you don't need to sign it at all. Parents do of course.

3) wire transfer is fine. Just let your parents mention the transaction number and get a transaction copy if you can as proof.

The more proofs, the better.

You do not have to meet the funds requirement if you are invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class.

Actually, my application is in the pool (CRS 486) , under FSW. So I am just gathering knowledge beforehand so that I can work fast when I get an ITA. :)
