Question Regarding Family

So, question I couldnt find an answer to.My common law partner plans to sponsor me.On the forms where you declare family, does the IRCC contact family members. Because while we may know the emails/addresses of some our family repspectivlely, we are estranged from some of them. And it could weird/awkward if they are contacted after not speaking to them in years. I just wanted to know

It is theoretically possible. However there are very few reports here of IRCC contacting family members.

It's also not unusual for applicants to have estranged family members.
