2. To continue to use, practice, etc.
This is why I kept saying automatic since the word retain means to keep what you already have. You shouldn't have to do anything as in automatic.
So the law is not that clear. But since as moejun says that a friend happened to fill papers to prevent from losing citizenship. The law basically means you will still lose it unless you fill papers. In other words, the law is not 100% correct in using the word "retain". But then again the law is written in Filipino not English. Perhaps poor choice of English sentence in translation?
