Question regarding degrees

Hi there guys,

I'm considering applying for canadian visa but I wanted to ask a question regarding my degree certificates.

I have a provisional degree from my university (Vinayaka Missions University, Chennai) for my chosen subject, but seeing as I had already left the country to pursue my master's degree in the UK, I never got around to collecting my convocation degree.

Now, as with most universities in India, they're making life difficult for me to collect a copy of my convocation degree, so I wanted to ask -

a) Would my provisional degree (along with my marksheets) be sufficient to prove that I completed my course or is a convocation degree an absolute must?
b) Since I completed my Masters degree already, which document do they rely on specifically for giving points in order for qualification for the Express Entry program?

I discussed this with a few migration consultants here in mumbai and they seemed to be fine with it, but I thought I'd get a second opinion from you guys as well. All help is appreciated!

Check if your UK Masters is equivalent to a Canadian Masters degree. If yes, you don't need to get your Bachelors assessed at all.

I've heard tell of the help you've provided to folks on this forum over the years

I actually did a prelim assessment via the WES website and it turns out that my Masters degree (from the University of Kent in Canterbury) is equivalent to a master's degree in Canada. So that's a bit of a relief!

Would me not having my convocation degree for my bachelor's degree pose a problem for any other paperwork in the Express Entry process?

If that's the case, your Bachelors degree is irrelevant to your PR application. Relax, apply to WES, get the ECA report and proceed with your EE application.
